In March of 2008 my history class learned of Darfur and about how real genocide is today. The highest majority of young people had no clue that this was even going on and they were genuinely horrified. They wanted to help. They asked the question, “Mr. Adams what can we really do?” I instantly thought of the Save Darfur Coalition and the “Tents of Hope” projects. The students immediately began to collect money to buy a large canvas tent so that one, maybe two, maybe three families living as refugees in the Sudan will have a home.
The “Tents of Hope” is one that is designed to raise awareness in a very symbolic and moving way. Several news organizations helped us promote the event and the Desert News wrote a front page on the Utah Section piece. www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,695269782,00.html
We still have the tent. Early in November, the "Tents of Hope Coalition" will gather together at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. We desperately want to attend this event and bring out tent to display.
We invite you to attend a charity dance concert, “Dance for Darfur.” Students at Cyprus High, Granger High and Kearns High have all united forces to present a fun filled evening with a deeply profound message. The concert dates are
September 29, 2008 at Granger High at 7:00 PM,
September 30, 2008 at Cyprus High at 7:00 PM and at
Kearns High on October 1, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
All proceeds and donations go to sending students from Cyprus, Granger and Kearns to Washington. Remember “students bring the world peace.”
There are so many ways that YOU can help. Copy and paste this information onto your own blog. Ask anyone who reads this to do the same. Even if you don't live in the Utah area, these students want raise awareness about Darfur.

For those of us not in the area and wanting to support your cause, can we send a donation? Should we send it to you? What's your address? (You can email it to me, so that all the weirdos that frequent your blog won't know where you live! HA!)
