I have to admit that I have yet to admit that I truly live in Utah. The fact that I cried when we registered our car and got Utah plates and I still carry my valid CO drivers license would prove that fact. Anyway, I got this as a forward (Thanks Jen!) and thought it was funny. I hope all of my Colorado friends enjoy it and just know that I am jealous of you and your stinkin' Pikes Peak...
You're from Colorado if...
You'll eat ice cream in the winter.
When the weather report says it's going to be 65 degrees, you shave your legs and wear a skirt.
You'll wear flip flops every day of the year, regardless of temperature.
You have no accent at all, but can hear other people's. And then you make fun of them.
'Humid' is over 25%.
Your sense of direction is: Toward the mountains and Away from the mountains.
You say 'the interstate' and everybody knows which one.
You grew up planning your Halloween costumes around your coat.
You know what the Continental Divide is.
You went to Casa Bonita as a kid, and as an adult.
You've gone off-roading in a vehicle that was never intended for such activities.
You always know the elevation of where you are.
You wake up to a beautiful, 80 degree day and you wonder if it's going to snow tomorrow.
**You don't care that some company renamed it, the Broncos still play at Mile High**
Every movie theater has military and student discounts.
You know you're talking to a fellow Coloradoan when they call it Elitches, not Six Flags.
A bear on your front porch doesn't bother you.
When people out East tell you they have mountains in their state too, you just laugh.
You go anywhere else on the planet and the air feels 'sticky' and you notice the sky is no longer blue.

Mom is Home from the Hospital
My mom came home from the hospital yesterday. After almost two and half weeks in the hospital, she is home and doing much better. It will take a while for her to recovery completely, but we are just so grateful that she is home. Thanks to you all for your prayers and support!

Does Anyone Know Who This Is?
Can anyone identify this person? If you figure it out, let me know. I think Leeann, uh, I mean, whoever this is, stole my pants.

Happy Birthday Gweny!!!!
Gweny is 2-years-old today! I just love her so much. She is such a sweet and cutie little kid. She loves Elmo, all of her granparents, all babies, shoes, cottage cheese, taking baths, and playing with Mikayla. She does NOT like taking naps, sharing, drinking water, the Nursery at church, the vacuum, or sitting in shopping carts. She hates it when I play the piano (Yes, I am THAT BAD!!) She is getting so big and learning so many new things every day! We love our little Gweny-bean! Happy birthday!!!!

There's a Bum on My Face
I recently had the following conversation with Mikayla...
Mikayla: Mommy, what does a bum look like?
Me: A bum?
Mikayla: Yes, a bum.
Me: You know what a bum looks like. Why are you asking?
Mikayla: Because I want to imagine that there's a bum on my face.
Me: What???????
Mikayla: I want to pretend there is a bum on my face because I'm in the water. I just want to imagine it.
Me: But...a bum?
Mikayla (thinking silently to herself for a moment): Maybe a bun...
Me: A bun? What are you doing in the water?
Mikayla: I want to imagine that I can swim and look at turtles in my Snow White Dress.
Me: Oh, so want to imagine that you are wearing goggles?
Mikayla (laughing at herself): Oh GOGGLES!!! Not a bum. I'm silly sometimes.

Update on My Mom
Sorry Jennifer, I just copied and pasted this from your blog. I hope you don't mind...
Dear Ones:
Mom is still in the ICU, but she is doing better. Yesterday, they told my dad that she would need to have the breathing tube removed in order to avoid damage to her vocal chords, or have a tracheotomy. So, they did another breathing test and she went for 3 hours this time with diminished support from the ventilator. Her chest x-ray looked slightly better and after some good results on the breathing test, they removed the tube. She is now in a large face mask breathing device that pushes air in for her. But she is awake! And communicating! And upset that she is in the hospital. She kept trying to get up yesterday and we were saying, "Are you KIDDING me? Seriously?" She is extremely weak and we still don't know how much longer she'll be in ICU and then a regular hospital room after that. It's really hard to understand her, as she can hardly talk at all and can only whisper through the breathing mask. I told her that Beck and Ainsley love her (and want to trade houses with her, as Beck said, because ours is not as "cool"). She whispered, "Bring them. Bring them." Life is good and our family has been blessed immensely. Thanks again, everyone!
Loves,
Jennifer

Quick Update
I just got home from a quick trip to Colorado Springs. For those of you who don't know, my mom is very, very sick. She is in the intensive care unit on a ventilator. She has a very bad case of streptococcus pneumonia and is in an induced coma until she improves enough to breathe on her own. They have her on a number of antibiotics, but she doesn't seem to be responding well to the treatments. The doctors told us this morning that it could be a few weeks until they can take her off the ventilator and let her out of the ICU. She did squeeze my hand before I kissed her and left yesterday. Please pray for her and my dad and the rest of my family. She is such an amazing woman and a wonderful mom and grandma. I need her so much and my girls need her as well. Love you all!
